Design is fostering growth
Curiosity and a desire to better understand the world drive continuous growth — both in knowledge and skills. Research, redefine, refine, and ultimately bring ideas into reality.
Addressing an issue through design enables growth on multiple levels — not only economic. I look for opportunities to collaborate, increase accessibility and share knowledge. Many of my projects result in open-source solutions that invite others to participate and iterate.

Design is systemic
Design’s purpose extends far beyond the final product. By drawing attention to relevant issues and research, it can create lasting impact. My role as a creator is to recognise and respond to the systems around me — understanding their dynamics over time and across contexts, rather than simply pursuing a single design solution.
Design is connective
As creatives and researchers, we carry the responsibility to observe and operate within context. Working at the intersections of disciplines allows designers to see solutions that remain invisible from other perspectives.
Design should make use of this unique position — weaving together ideas, knowledge and practices to create integrated, more resilient networks.

Design is disruptive
Once systems are observed and understood, they can be challenged. From the micro scale of my own practice to the broader structures of society, the designer should be prepared to question, redefine and transform.
Creation becomes a tool for overcoming psychological, physical, financial or social barriers. Each project should address at least one of these challenges, making the world more accessible and inclusive.

Design is playful
In a world often overwhelmed by cynicism, design can create not only material value, but also joy and beauty in everyday life. Projects are opportunities to introduce positive and humorous interactions that carry into the user’s daily experience.
